Kasota Hydroponics owners Susan and Darl Harms started their business in 2016 and began growing a year-round crop of fresh lettuce. Their greenhouse is a hydroponic system, meaning that nutrients are added to a water solution and fed directly to the plant. Their line of fresh greens quickly expanded and, as of spring 2020, they also market microgreens, arugula, and basil.
