Master gardener Manon Gaudreau will give a composting demonstration on Saturday, May 11, at 10:15 am for about 45 minutes, at her home in Deerfield, in Hailey. All gardeners are welcome. The demo is free but pre-registration is required by emailing Manon at email@example.com, or Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org, (208) 788-5585
From selective kitchen scraps and yard wastes, Manon produces compost to spread in her garden as nutrient, soil amendment and mulch. Sifted compost goes into making a seed starting mix. Homemade compost is rich in beneficial soil microbes and micronutrients that enrich our garden soil and feed our home crops.
Manon is a co-manager of the Wood River Seed Library, an officer of the Hailey Grange association and a volunteer educator of the UI Extension.
